Can house 14-18 average sized chickens.Make no mistake, the Monmouth Major is a LARGE chicken house! Without the nest boxes fitted, it measures:
W: 165cm (65") x D: 100cm (39") x H: 103cm (41").
You will need to allow an extra 2ft of space for each nest box (this provides enough room for the nest box and also sufficient space for access). You may also like to create extra height by adding a 10" stand (available as an optional extra).
Is made from high quality timber, with a corroline corrugated roof. We insist on using thick, solid timber for all of our Monmouth chicken houses, because low quality wood can put your birds at risk. Persistent predators can scratch and claw their way into houses made of flimsy wood.
Keeps your birds safe from their No 1 enemy - the fox. Lock your birds in the house at night and they will be safe from foxes, dogs and other predators, because in the battle of claw vs high quality timber, wood wins every time.
Is weatherproof. The timber we use has been pressure treated so will resist fungus and rot.
Provides a warm, comfortable living environment for your birds. The corroline roof is a single sheet, corrugated design, so keeps your birds dry and directs rainwater away from the house. The curved edges also allow air to flow freely above your birds - they get plenty of ventilation but are not blasted by cold air.
Comes almost fully assembled, with 2 free perches, a large lockable front door, a lockable pophole, and 2 large nest boxes. All you need to do is attach the nest boxes and roof and you are ready to go.
